I got mine at Vislia years ago and its still serving me!
I saw the versions that Tom has and they are improved. The stand has less metal which makes it a lot lighter in the Sportube and probably draws less attention in the Xray check:-)
It sounds like the guy who makes them, life is changing and he is bored with making them so you'd better hurry up and get one of group Tom got.

The one you got was made by Fred Guilfoyle, after in 1999, I
asked him to make some for us (see how small the world is?). Fred
made a bunch, and when his job situation changed, stopped making
them. Then, Paul Kmetko asked permission to develop them and have
them produced, which we accepted happily. Paul has vastly improved on
our original "just-for-your-buddy design," and they are
better than ever and will continue to be available, no worries... For
