Anyone who doesn't subscribe to the Journal For RC Soaring Enthusiasts, can borrow my copy when it comes, just let me know! I'll send it.
RCSD is the most read but least subscribed to RC Soaring Resource in the world,,, that's cuz when the modeler who subcribes is done reading it, he passes it on to clubmates.

So here's your chance to read it free like the others, I think its worth the $30 per year and have no problem sharing my good fortune :-)

Gordy
course its first come first gets it!

Highlights of the October 2003 issue:

Cover photography this month is by David Garwood, Scotia, New York, copyright 2003. Dave captures the essence and thrill of flying over Wilson Lake Kansas at an annual event called the Midwest Slope Challenge. Rich loud is flying a Renegade for the camera. A color 8x10 "poster" of the cover photo can be downloaded from this link.
"On the 'wing..." columnists, Bill & Bunny Kuhlman, have provided, in previous issues of RCSD, an in-depth analysis of twist distributions for swept wings. This month they take a look at the twist distributions by Irv Culver and Walter Panknin, make comparisons, and derive a few conclusions. As always, their well documented analysis includes detailed graphics and extensive references.
Paula Garwood knows what it means to be married to someone addicted to sailplanes. And when they have a balsa dungeon she knows just where to look to find its hidden treasure. This month she tells us some of the tools and adhesives she's found that have made her life easier, and what she uses them for!
"The Sloper's Resource" is a column dedicated to slope flying, whether techniques, flying sites, slope planes, or the like. Greg Smith shares all aspects of slope flying, and this month is no exception as he touches on points important to those learning to fly.
Our traveling reporter, Gordy Stahl, is always at home anywhere he travels. And, when he's out on the range, he knows to do a check. A range check, that is to say. What's that? A simple range check is done to check up on a transmitter's connection to the sailplane receiver. And if it isn't done? Gordy explains what can happen, first hand, as it happened to him!
