I think it's more of a collectable model than most. It really was well ahead of its time. I like to display mine it the hangar, they are very recognizable and even non-sailplane people know the Hobie name.

I've collected many over the years, and I am the proud owner of two very rare 10' versions, both are NIB, never been flown or radio gear installed. I have an orange one that I'll fly, a very interesting model to fly. Fun to mess around with, I'd like to try one on the slope.

With the popularity of Hobie Hawk kits often bringing in more than 300 dollars on eBay, why has no one picked up the design and re-marketed it?
