Tom,
Something better than that. Go to a carpet store and check out
a rubberized type pad, comes in 3 thickness, plus it rolls up small,
and gives a better surface to work on planes.
I'm not talking about that greenish colored foam stuff.

This comes in green (thinner), orange (med), purple (thickes).
