Jim

I will say it was soaring HELL...

Thunderstorm storm blowing in and almost everything was down air with a
down wind launch, and if you did not hit it what little there was you
were down and out fast!
It was one of those times that stories come from for years to come.
I feel I was lucky to be in it and not break a bird.
My story in the finals is...
My first flight was six and change and a 0 landing and I decided to re
light and got a minute and change.... I think BAD CHOICE!!!!
Next flight I launched the AVA but just as I kicked the tow hook slid
forward and the AVA launched straight out and over flew the line for a
VERY short flight about a hundred feet or so I stood there for a bit and
then launched the Icon and the chute got caught on the tow hook and would
not release in my attempt to circle tow (could not get enough line
tension) again a poor launch into nothing..... That is what happened to
me...
There is not any one that flew in the fly off's that does not have a
story to tell!!!!
