Jeff, I have the model for you. The 2M Whisper is probably ideal based on your parameters. But first, let's talk about the Opus. The Opus is hot little slope racer, designed for speed and heavy wing loading. It has an RG-14 airfoil, and really does not like to slermal (slope/thermal=light air). My point is this, if you want a lead sled for slope racing or fun flying, the Opus is a good choice. But that is NOT what you described (see below).
The Whisper is based on the very popular Blade 2M (clocked at 202mph recently), but has a lighter lay-up, two piece wings (much easier to transport) and a thermal airfoil. It's fully molded, and easy to assemble. Currently priced at $349 and like all of our products, it's in stock. You might also consider the Triangle for really light sloping conditions. Regards, Nathan Woods www.SoaringUSA.com ----------------------- From: "Jeff Reid" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> <heavily snipped> I'm looking for a standard class (around 100 inch / 2.5 meter wingspan), 6 channel model that's reasonably light for the slope on light to medium light days. ...I'm considering a new or used model if I find one that's similar to the Sierra in size and weight. The Opus at nesail seemed promising, but... Any of the the standard class molded slope racers would be nice, except these are usually heavier with thinner wings, not exactly light air models. Any suggestions or recomendations would be appreciated. RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
