RC soaring is so consistently challenging and satisfying that one almost has to 
qualify peak moments by emotions: fear; exhilaration; satisfaction. etc.

For me, the moments that pegged the emotional meter most consistently have come

This year's trip was no less exhilarating, from blowing up my Vortex to the 
500' climb to retrieve it (after Pat Bowman said he'd seen rattlers on the road 
up earlier in the week) to driving down over the top after the regular entrance 
road was blocked by too many cars to move. "Sure, you got 4-wheel, you can go 
that way!"  Ever sat in a car and had NOTHING but sky visible from the 
windshield?  OMG!!! 

Then there are the moments like the dry mouth and shaking thumbs at the 
count-down to the fly-off round at F3J Nats ('99, 6th), etc.
