The problem with DHL where I am is that they bought out Airborne Express -- same people and same bad service. Hopefully it will get better.

Subject: [RCSE] DHL shipping. . .amazing!

From www.dhl.com I was able to register and get an account # to ship stuff. Registering consisted of providing my name, street address, Visa card #, e-mail address, user name and password, etc.

Via the Internet, after providing destination address and package info, I could print out a "waybill" to put on the package.

Within a 1/2 hour after I had requested pickup via Internet, a truck came by my home and silently whisked it from my front door.

The package was a heavy duty Sportube with a Genie LT/S inside. It was 23 pounds, "oversized" and insured for over $1,000. The cost was just $41.46 to Zone 5!

That's less than 1/2 of what Parcel Post would have been. I'm impressed!

Last Genie handled by local Pak n' Ship and sent UPS a similar distance was over $120.

I feel like a bandit!

All done via the Internet.
