Hi ... a friend on mine and myself are currently designing a new 3.4 m thermal glider (ie not for F3b)
Having been looking at wing plan forms and sections we have been a little confused by the differing approach
to the way the wing section should be changed from the root to the tip. I have been under the impression
that a thinning of the section and a slight increase in camber as you progress out to the tip was preferred.
However on talking to a another person here in Australia who is designing a new moulded model, he said
that the increasing of camber to the tip is not being used any more. Assuming that the model is to be used
in only thermal type contests in up to moderate winds, could someone with a good knowledge of modern wing
design please make some constructive comment on the use of, or, in not using an increasing camber change
to the wing tip. Joe Wurts for example if you have time....
