I joined the Las Vegas Valley Soaring Association (full-size gliders) today, took my first lesson in a 2-33 and had an absolute blast. So much of what we do crosses over to the real thing. I did do something that doesn't happen in models, though... My cell phone got knocked off and left in the plane.
