I've ordered a couple items (one of them being a 2 meter Chrysalis) from DJ Aerotech a few years ago and fortunately I had received them in a reasonable amount of time. I was very happy with my purchases from DJ Aerotech and would order from them again after making sure that they have it in stock.
But in your friend's case, four months is very unreasonable. For me, I would have cancelled my order after only a month and found another plane to build. Maybe later when I would have assurances from DJ that it is available I would place another order if I really wanted that particular plane. Your friend really has some patience. I hope that your friend had at least tried to call and email them frequently over the course of these months. All he has gotten so far are assurances to be patient. Considering the web site has a banner proclaiming "Chrysalis Electric and MKII Available!", 4 months seems like a stretch for a 2 meter built up kit. My friend is relatively new to the hobby, his winter project has become a summer one at best, and right now I'm feeling a bit sheepish over having recommended the kit.
