Hi all, Just feeling it and had to share........ Another spring has arrived here in the Mid West, it has been a little rocky coming, but I believe we have seen the last freeze until next October. Time to enjoy those summer time activities with gusto and time to be ready for the fourth Wood Crafters Soar In Reunion.
About sixty guys, some with their sons ( 5 ) will converge on the AMA fling site in Muncie, IN this May 26, 27, 28, 29 to fly their woody sailplanes. There will be approx. 20 woody scale sailplanes and two aero tow jocks. It is worth the trip just to see the beautifully crafted scale sailplanes in action all four days. This year I added two more classes of woody scale; Ray's Fun Scale, a laid back approach to having fun with scale woody sailplanes and Man on Man 60" or less Mini Fun Scale that will be launched from Sky Bench Mini Hi Starts. The first two days are fun fly for woody sailplanes with optional competition and Sat and Sunday we have our very successful WC 05 Championship. The most laid back, fun contest and great group of guys on the planet. Scale guys just keep on flying through all of this activity giving everyone more opportunity to fly all their woodys than you can imagine possible. We are hell bent on keeping activity alive and well for those of us that enjoy building and flying our own. Wood Crafters is all about fun for the guys with the talent and inclination to create their own and to have a great time with others of the same interest. Most of the entrants also fly composit/molded sailplanes, but still enjoy the balsa and glue. Our rules are simple and user friendly and our events are laid back and fun. Another great event happening this spring, May 21 - 22, is the opening contest at Cinnci. of the great OVSS Series of contests in the Mid West. See you there.......... :) Ray Hayes http://www.skybench.com Home of Wood Crafters RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
