I have known Mark for several years, and have seen him more often in the last few years as we both flew out of Cal City. Mark flew his ASW  20 OD, hard and fast, and I often followed his pace as he called in position reports on the radio, as he raced up and down the Sierra Range. I don't know all the circumstances of his accident, but know that the Caracole group would have done everything possible to help him when he failed to make it back to the field. I will miss his words and his thoughts on this sport that was such a big part of him. Mark will be missed, he was a good guy, he was a good stick, he was my friend. Larry Jolly
