Well, I assembled my Great Planes Fling DLG and generally was pleased
with what I got. There were a few problems with it --

-- the covering job wasn't very good
-- the CA hinges they did weren't done very well
-- the pull pull controls (installed as they suggest) just didn't
seem to work very well, though this is probably my fault and
      not theirs ...

but generally it seemed to be pretty good. Getting it up in the air a
few things became apparant --

-- I need a lot more practice at DLG launches!
-- The rudder doesn't do much ... very small.
-- the stock elevator doesn't have enough control authority.
At least not for my poor launches.

It's really that last item that did me in. In normal flight it's
fine, but in my last launch I goofed and launched the plane almost
straight up. I even had some decent altitude but didn't have enough
control authority to pull out before it smacked into the ground ...

It broke the wing at the midsection. Which surprised me -- the epoxy
joint broke clean, right there. I had a good joint, at least I
thought I did ...

In any event, the wooden joiner was snapped in two. It's epoxied into
each half of the wing, and I'll have to get most of that out if I want
to repair it. I'm thinking X-acto knives to try and cut at the epoxy
with doing as little damage as possible to the channel it goes into,
but they won't be able to go deep enough to get it all out, or I could
use a drill and brute force it out (as a last resort) but I'm
wondering if others have any ideas ...
