Michael,

I am active in ARCS, which operates the Palmer field. We usually have a
couple thermal duration contests there each year. In addition, there is a
slope combat group that gets together in Anchorage when the wind is blowing
from the south, and a smaller but growing group of hand launch (mostly
discus, now) glider pilots.

I've also flown a fair amount up in Hatcher Pass, which is sort of in your
neighborhood... and very scenic.

Doug

Subject: [RCSE] Sailplanes pilots in Alaska?????

Now that I have moved to the far north I am again looking for people
to fly with and places to fly.

I am in Houston, AK in the Mat-Su valley and would like to find people
flying thermal (winch or high start), HLG and slope.
I found one club that has a field in Palmer and is mostly flying
indoor in Wasilla during the winter but would like to find more.

One thing, we have a LONG building season. :D
