It's quite simple really, it helps (More...) http://bit.ly/YMAKta --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Amonix Ties With Solar Cell Developer ---- Seal Beach-based concentrating photovoltaic (CPV) systems manufacturer Amonix has tied with Solar Junction, a developer of high-efficiency solar energy cells, the two said today. According to the two companies, Amonix and Solar Junction are in a collaboration which will combine the Amonix module technology with Solar Junction's solar cell technology. The two said the deal will help increase efficiency of the Amonix products, and help lower costs. Solar Junction, which is backed by New Enterprise Associates, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Advanced Technology Ventures, and IQE, said it is developing highly efficient solar cells specifically for CPV applications. SOA Software Debuts New Product ---- Los Angeles-based SOA Software, the developer of enterprise API software, said today that it has unveiled a new product, providing OAuth capability to enterprises. SOA said its new product, SOA Software OAuth server, extends existing enterprise identity and access management systems to partner and cloud applications. OAuth is an industry standard used to share login data across different, cloud-based applications and services. The protocol is used for single sign-on to applications in the cloud, and is what allows users to log into different web-based services using their Google, Yahoo, or other OAuth-capable service. SOA Software said its enterprise OAuth Server software starts at $50,000. Webalo Partners For Mobile Analytics For Salesforce ---- Los Angeles-based Webalo, which develops software which allows enterprise customers to make their data available on mobile phones, said today that it has partnered with AppExtremes, which makes document creation and reporting products for Salesforce. According to Webalo, the deal will hel proivde a way for Salesforce users to access reports from AppExtremes on any smartphone or tablet. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. AppExtremes software is used for reporting on Salesforce data. Soundcast Systems Sold ---- Chula Vista-based Soundcast Systems, which develops wireless music systems, said today that it has been acquired by Jeremy Burkhardt, who was most recently CEO of audio and electronics firm SpeakerCraft. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Soundcast is a developer of weather resistant, wireless audio systems. New Startup Incubator Launches At Loyola Marymount ---- There's a new, startup incubator in town in West Los Angeles--this time, launching out of Loyola Marymount University and its College of Business. According to the school, it has launched the The LMU CBA Business Incubator, a brand new startup incubator focused on companies in the technology and consumer products area. The incubator--which is being managed by Dr. David Y. Choi--is launching with nine student and alumni companies, and provides space, advisors and mentors, and connections to startups. The firm said it installed four of its kiosks at the Boise Airport, letting travelers rent or buy entertainment while traveling. Digiboo is backed by Revelations Entertainment, the production firm of Morgan Freeman. The firm's service revolves around letting users download movies and TV programs to either a flash drive, or via Wi-Fi.
