Emulex Adds Two To Board
----
Costa Mesa-based Emulex said Monday that it has added two members to
its board of directors. The developer of high speed, networking
hardware said it added Gene Frantz and Greg Clarke to its board.

CapLinked Adds Folder Downloads
----
Los Angeles-based CapLinked, the developer of online software used to
manage financial deals, said Monday that it has added a new feature
which lets its members download entire folders from the site. The
company--which is targeting the Virtual Data Room market--said the new
feature lets members select important folders to download, and then
packages those together for a quick download. CapLinked's
software-as-a-service is being used to manage everything from merger
and acquisition deals, to asset sales, venture financing, and other
similar deals. The firm is headed by Eric Jackson and Christopher
Grey, and backed by such investors as 500 Startups, FF Angel, Siemer
Ventures, Peter Thiel, and others.

Kofax Wins Italian Bank
----
Irvine-based Kofax Software, the developer of document capture
software, reported a win in Italy today, with an Italian bank.
According to Kofax, the major Italian bank win was worth more than
$300,000, and went towards expanding its use of Kofax software across
all of its branches across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.
Name of the customer was not announced. Kofax said the customer has
now invested more than $1M in its software.

City of LA Debuts Smartphone App
----
The City of Los Angeles has launched its own smartphone application,
the firm said Monday, called MyLA311, which will allow Angelenos to
submit serviec requests, pay their LADWP bills, and also locate city

Emulex Completes Endace Acquisition
----
Costa Mesa-based Emulex announced Monday that it has completed its
acquisition of Endace, the provider of network performance management
and monitoring appliances. Emulex had announced the acquisition of
Endace in December. The deal was worth approximately $130M. Emulex is
a developer and manufacture of high speed, networking adapters,
including Fibre Channel HBAs, 10GbE NICs, iSCSI and FCOE adapters, and
other hardware and software.

ChoicePunch Takes On Life Decisions

A new, Los Angeles startup hopes its service will help users simplify
life choices, by asking other users to comment on different questions.

Proximal Data Gets $2M For Caching Software

San Diego-based Proximal Data, which develops serve-side caching
software for accelerating I/O access to virtualized machines, said
Monday morning that it has raised $2M in a Series B round of funding.
The funding came from Divergent Ventures, along with existing
