Dear Colleague, Community Partners, the California Community Technology Policy Group, the BroadBand Institute of California and the California Emerging Technology Fund cordially invite you to take part of a videoconference to provide feedback on the project findings of the Wireless Comparative Analysis and Best Practices Education Project.
The videoconference will be held at 5 locations throughout California on May 21, 2008 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento, San Diego, and San Francisco). Representatives from community-based organizations, industry, and government agencies involved or interested in government-led wireless projects have been invited to attend this event. Please register online at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=vyiewO2n9o8GwYXwuExLIA_3d_3d. Briefly, the Wireless Comparative Analysis and Best Practices Education Project is an aggressive effort funded by the California Emerging Technology Fund to identify and promote lessons learned and promising practices in the area of government-led wireless networks. The results of this research project will help to enrich the public discussion on government-led wireless projects in California and nation-wide. In addition, the results will also be valuable for jurisdictions in California in future planning, development, and implementation of wireless projects. The final report of the project will be available for distribution in summer 2008. The objective of the videoconference is to ask for your feedback on the research findings and the analysis of lessons learned and promising practices. Draft documents of the findings and analysis will be shared with you before the event. We look forward to sharing with you the results of our research and to hearing whether our findings and analysis are consistent with your experience. We appreciate your participation and hope that you can join us during the upcoming videoconference. Your feedback is fundamental to the success of the project.
