[Social-discuss] PHP-Based GNU Social structure

Assuming that we go with a pure-PHP GNU Social, what would the 
application look like, structure-wise? How would the nodes communicate? 
What would the user experience be like?

I'm just curious to know what ideas we have regarding the general 
structure of such an application.
