Especially to stirr off-topic discussions :-) * The US spends as much on the military as the next 9 countries put together. * However, if you measure it as expenditure as a percent or GDP (prob a more fair measure) North Korea comes first with a whooping 34% of GDP. The USA and Iran are head to head with 3.2%. * Canada was #133 with a modest 1.1%, and Venezuela was 148 with a 0.9% Note that the US estimate is based on 1999 stats, so it's going to be much much higher now.
