"Woody's Office Watch" ran a survey to see what version of MS Office was most used by the subscribers. I'm going to cut and paste. I found it very interesting, especially the comment about OpenOffice.

I am one of those "interesting ones", but I also realize that I skewed the survey. I have OfficeXP at work ... have to, it came on the computer ... but I use OpenOffice.org except when I have to open "Publisher" docs. (what an absolute DOG of a an app!) Anyway, here are some of the results:

"No surprise that Office 2003 was the most commonly used version of Office, but
not by as large a margin as you might think and certainly not as large a percentage
as Microsoft would like. The fact that the latest Office could not muster a clear
majority vote from a group of readers to an MS Office dedicated newsletter is a sign
of the problem Microsoft has in convincing people to upgrade.

Office 2003: 43%
Office XP: 20%
Office 2000: 22%
Office 97: 6%

Office versions at work:

Office 2003: 45%
Office XP: 19%
Office 2000: 23%
Office 97: 5%

A statistically small but still interesting group use OpenOffice v2.

In both cases the balance to 100% were made up of a small number of responses from
the other choices available. There were over 9,500 responders to the survey
overall."
