Tested it with 125Kbps speed while overloading bus to more than 90% with generating multiple (5+) packets/streams at the same time with delay between 1ms to 3ms thus I think its well beyond 4K packets per second (but not 100% sure) _and_ I never saw any packet drop. So just give it a try and let us know the results.
