Hi,

I tried to boot my net5501 and have minicom running
on a RedHat Linux

(Ctrl+A Z O "Serial port setup"to see -->)
Serial Device: /dev/ttys0
Bps/Par/Bite: 19200 8N1
HW Flow Control: No
SW Flow Control: No

And I see:
--------------------------------------------
POST 01234.......tvwxy
comBIOS ver. 1.32i
-------------------------------------------
So the steps you took were OK.
But is the cable OK ?

You could try to connect the machine
running putty to the other machine
running minicom anf verify that you can make a connection .
 Then the cable is OK.

Otfried
