My serial ports got fried years ago but I still use my net4801 as a router every day. Now I'm using NanoBSD and have out grown my 256MB card and have purchased a SanDisk Ultra II 2GB card. It's not working and I gather this is because I need to update the comBIOS to version 1.33. So is this possible from FreeBSD (or Linux or anything) without using the serial ports on the net4801 ? If not, how easy would it be to replace the fried serial port chip (I've got access to a very good soldering station) ?
