Hello All,

A SIP question for you all: I noticed that at the completion of a
consultative transfer operation (i.e. REFER method), the transferor received
BYEs from our Asterisk server for both the first leg (on-hold) and the
second leg. And the BYE occurs immediately after the NOTIFY subscription
terminated (for Event: refer).

Recently, we upgraded to a newer version of Asterisk and it sends a BYE only
for the second leg, not the first leg. I did some SIP research on the
subject and it appears that most current references say the transferor
should send the BYE for the first (held) leg after the NOTIFY subscription
terminated is received (or alternatively, attempt to renew the
subscription).

Do you all agree that the transferor should transmit the BYE for the first
(held) leg in this scenario?

Best Regards,
Jerry
