I'd like to thank Aleksander for the patch and vote for inclusion.
I've not tried it yet, but from the description this is exactly what I'm
looking for.
And yes, it's not a feature but it let Sofia work against buggy UACs, which
unfortunately still exist and we can do nothing about.

What I discovered was that even though the documentation did not explicitly
show the 100 message being handled, it was in fact handled by the client. For
my situation, everything worked as you would hope according to the SIP protocol.
Well, in my case I know that the UAC doesn't like them, because the SIP 100
Trying seems to close the transaction in the UAC avoiding the dialog to be
created.
I know that this patch is not really a feature, but just a hack to avoid buggy
UACs, but it might be useful also for others, and doesn't seem to harm the base
code of sofia-sip. I already created our own repo of sofia-sip to include that
change, and we will distribute the modified sofia-sip to our clients if the
patch doesn't get to the main darcs repo, so it's not a problem. Just wanted to
share it with others in case someone has the same issue and can't really
request the fix in the UAC (as in my case).
