Alberto and the group,

Dan Tayloe acknowledged that he didn't discover the QSD (or Tayloe
Detector). I think it was in a fairly recent message addressed to the
QRP-L mailing list. He said he merely discovered a modern method of
implementing the hardware, but that he didn't invent it. I'll see if
I can dig up the message. I think he acknowledged the original inventor.

Under the circumstances, I don't think there is a need to refer to it
without credit to individuals who advanced the art. The
implementation of QSD using modern analog switches was an
advancement, and I'm not sure that Dan Tayloe doesn't deserve credit
for that aspect. There is no doubt that he advanced the state of the
art by suggesting a more contemporary method of implementing the
original concept.

In any event, I don't think there is much controversy.

Regards,

Art
