Yes, I've played with it a little bit, I don't like it, Borland has
me spoiled. The new 2006 version has a lot of really nice features to
make your life easier. For example, the editor will inform you if you
are using a variable, function, or procedure that does not exist, it
can look up similar names so you can select the right one. If you
rename a procedure it will query you to see if you want to rename all
references to the old name.
What I might end up doing is when the new FlexSDR code is release,
it's supposed to be better organized, and easier to modify, I'll use
it to create a version in Delphi. I will take their code and start
converting it into Pascal and redo the interface with Borland's own.
I'll have to see what they are doing, any change to the present
visual interface is talked as a re-write of the code, which is
strange to me, in Borland the Visual interface is simplicity itself,
change sizes, re-arrange, without changing one line of code, adding
buttons only requires entering the code to be executed when the
button is active.
Some of that can be done with MS Visual but it's very clumsy, and it
took me a while to figure it out. I guess that is a reason why they
are not using those features, instead they are implementing buttons
with their own code, I'm assuming this from they way they describe
the difficulty in making interface changes.
I just installed Beta 12 and I'm attempting to compile it, looks like
I need the DirectX SDK, off to download it.
