  I understand the notch filter in the software and I have several examples of 
how that works here.

  Yet, given a fairly accurate sine wave responce in the audio circuits to 50 
kHz or 100 Khz even in the audio notch filter.  I can not see how that could do 
something such as scew the phasing or anything like that?

  I do have a question in regard to how that might work in the case where 
phasing might be effected where you have the software discriminating between 
band directions in terms of upper and lower sideband?  

  I also wonder if the notch would could be used only in one sideband?  I seem 
to think a hardware type notch might not be able to notch in one side band 
only.  For some reason I think it might be that way.

  I am just learning and taking notes for my interest in SDR.
