I've been using it since the Frantic Film days. I'm not sure I understand what problems you're having.
Deadline is pretty much self contained. Get the repository installed & running, get the clients installed on all the machines. Then load Deadline Monitor, go into Super User mode and configure the paths to Softimage & SoftimageBatch. Finally copy the file [Repository]/ClientSetup/XSI/SubmitXSIToDeadline.py to the folder [XSI Install Directory]/Application/Plugins and then you'll have "Submit to Deadline" in your Render button. As long as the scenes & assets are all on UNC paths, it should work without any other tweaking. You can then go into the Monitor and set up pools, groups, user groups, etc., if you need to. If you go to the Thinkbox forums you can get access to Deadline 6 beta, which is a pretty major change from the current Deadline. -Paul On Sun, Feb 17, 2013 at 1:25 PM, Stefan Andersson <[email protected]>wrote: > Hi All! > At my current place they have Deadline installed on a few machines.
