I still have Softimage|3D installed on my Dell Precision workstation at home. Just make sure your computer has Xeon processors, Windows XP, and a decent Nvidia card. Current cards are OK. The only component I've had issues getting to work is mental ray previews. Not sure about 3rd party plugins like Phoenix tools, though.
