Something is messed up with your Simulation Environment. http://screencast.com/t/MeWw3nkE8S4
Try creating a new environment (Create > Rigid Body > Environment) and if that works, making it the default. Or maybe you need to runonce.bat or restart Softimage<https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!searchin/xsi_list/error$20when$20creating$20a$20simulated$20ice$20tree%7Csort:relevance/xsi_list/t8iBONMm3cI/G0265kPFpk4J> .
