I know there have been discussions about this but am not sure what the status
is. I will check.

Hi Maurice

Not great news for us as we are on the ARC licences ;(

Any news of maybe getting Maya LT added to to ARC program to compensate. We use
softimage for our games design course (as well as our 3d animation course) and
Maya is very much overkill for what they need.

Kind regards

Angus

Hi Angus,

The EDU suite will be treated like the commercial Ultimate Suite in that
Softimage will be included for 2 more years but retired in 2016. However the
free student licenses and ARC programs will be retired on March 28th maurice

Don't know about you lot, but just got back home to a family who are consoling
me with pancakes and strawberries. Wife giving reassuring nods as I explain
(although no idea what I am blubbering about...except an understanding of more
work as I transition to modular pipeline with 6 apps being used for the best
artist experience)...bring on the cream and maple syrup...

Bad pr from Autodesk.
No compassion...
No information about what's being done to Maya that could interest Softimage
users...
I mean, that could help, no?

Does everyone that was working on Softimage including demo artists and support
are moving to Maya or where they let go?

With or without ADs infrastructure I am sure the list will survive, even if the
focus changes slightly ________________________________

I agree Enrique, the XSI-List is a big part of the reason Softimage was so
awesome.

I will switch in 2 years to modo or houdini.
