I have 3 ICE trees but none are frozen.  2 have caches on file.

I'm checking process monitor, but so far haven't found anything incredibly 
obvious.  

For now I'm taking a break from that job & going to zen out on some voxel 
modeling.

I had the problem of a crash on "saving particles" in a scene that was very 
heavy in frozen ice trees.

Deleting those fixed the problem, but I needed them, so what I ended up doing 
was exporting them as a cache and then loading them in through the cache node.

Took a bit longer to evaluate, but worked. I could not figure out the actual 
root cause of the issue.

Do you have a lot of frozen particles in
