Reputed IT MNC Company Position: QA Manager Location: Mohali (Chandigarh) QA Manager will report to Head of Quality Engineering.
Responsibilities: • Lead a team of software engineers who are dedicated for test automation for various projects • Prepare a test automation strategy and set the goals for the team • Guide the team technically and professionally in achieving the success on set goals • Ensure the automated test suite reflects the pass/fail criteria of manual testing • Prepare and follow test automation development lifecycle model similar to normal product development lifecycle • Ensure the automation framework is well maintained and kept up to date • Achieve the goal of zero-touch automation in a phase-wise planning to reduce the test execution cycle time for build acceptance testing and functional regression testing • Lead a team of QA engineers who are dedicated for API/XDK testing and some of white-box activities • Prepare a system test strategy and set the goals for the team • Ensure the system requirements are well defined by product management team • Ensure the system behaviors of the software application meets or exceeds customer needs and expectations • Ensure user documents are synchronized with the product features and they are usable by the end customers • Focus on value-addition by this team, areas of optimization and improvements, and crisp execution to meet the project milestones and quality of deliverables • Characterizing the system behaviors, understanding the product quality assessment and providing the actionable constructive feedback to other stakeholders • Ensure there is a proper automation done for performing system test tasks for better accuracy and faster execution • Project planning and resource allocation in conjunction with the QA director and other QA managers. • Developing right technical and professional skills in the team • Facilitate the team for interaction with other teams and forums to acquire more knowledge with respect to product, domain, technology, test tools and customer issues • Mentoring the team for high productivity, high output and for keeping high motivation level • Making team’s contribution value-added and visible to other stakeholders in the project and across departments • Monitoring of defects and work with development teams in getting them resolved. • Planning and procuring equipments and tools required for the teams • Lead the team in managing the various phases of test engineering projects such as initiation, planning, execution, control and closure. Requirements: • BE/BTech/MCA/ME/MTech with minimum of 8+ years of experience. • 8 to 10 years experience in QA with more than 2 years experience managing test automation, white-box testing and System test teams • Should possess good people and project management skills. • Must have a strong record of delivering projects on schedule. • Familiarity or working knowledge of test automation tools such as SilkTest, EggPlant, and other performance measurement tools such as Load Runner, Silk Performer etc. • Working knowledge and understanding of system level quality attributes, software metrics, and how to do specific system test tasks such as performance, scalability, stability, stress, workflows, usability, compliance, compatibility, etc. • Familiar with software industry system test case design concepts, strategies and methodologies • Good exposure on testing software and hardware products. • Has working knowledge and understanding of C/C++ programming languages, apple scripts, etc. • Has excellent communication skills, must be able to articulate the technical direction, convey issues outside and within the team, and mentor team members. • Willing to pose difficult questions and issues to both his team members and managers. • Work closely with PM and R&D on previous projects and has a good rapport with them. • Cross-platform expertise such as Windows and Mac.
