Software QA Supervisor The software quality assurance supervisor directs the activities required of the software quality assurance (QA) function. This position develops quality standards for company products and oversees the development and execution of software test plans and the analysis of test results. The software quality assurance supervisor selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. This position reports to the software engineering manager. Qualifications: • BS degree in computer science or related discipline. • Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing a software QA team. • Demonstrated ability to implement new processes, train team members, and expand team capabilities. • In-depth understanding of software configuration control. • Strong skills in at least one source code control system. • Demonstrated software QA skills. • Direct experience with writing and executing test plans. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent people skills. • Technical competence and professionalism. • Ability to work “hands on” when required. • Schedule flexibility; support outside of normal operational hours is sometimes required. • Strong team leader, builder, and motivator. • Experience in driving multi-departmental teams towards a common objective. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in an embedded systems environment. • Some software development experience using C/C++. • Experience using automated build tools. • Experience with scripting languages. • Experience with process or machine control systems.
