Hello, Here is a summary of what the team did from August 23 to September 06.
Sprint taskboard: https://tree.taiga.io/project/morucci-software-factory/taskboard/2018-36 Regarding Software Factory: * We continue to work on the Zuul Hands-on series, 3 new blog posts are almost ready to be merged (Gate a first patch, Use zuul-job library, The gate pipeline): https://softwarefactory-project.io/r/#/q/topic:hoz-series+(status:open+OR+status:merged) https://softwarefactory-project.io/logs/62/13562/6/check/build-pages/081eb1e/pages/tag/zuul-hands-on-series.html * Discussed commenting system to the SF blog, decided to investigate ISSO instead of using disqus: https://tree.taiga.io/project/morucci-software-factory/us/1669 * We split the ansible-network tenant and deployed a proper tenant instance for ansible with a config-repos hosted on github: https://github.com/ansible/zuul-config/blob/master/resources/ansible.yaml * We published a couple of blog posts about using gertty to do review and a React presentation from a python developer point of view: https://www.softwarefactory-project.io/reviewing-change-with-gertty.html and https://www.softwarefactory-project.io/react-for-python-developers.html * We worked on improved TLS settings to support different vhosts. * We investigated a tool named npmfed to automate npm dependencies packaging: https://softwarefactory-project.io/r/#/c/13571/ Regarding our contributions to Zuul and Nodepool: * we've updated the fix to nodepool that allows the node launch process to continue if a fnewly spawned node ends up failing and cannot be removed. The fix is now ready for review: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/589854/ * We continued working on react-zuul web interface using a better redux store design. We added follow-up page for jobs, build and config-errors notification drawer. * We investigated using prometheus to monitor zuul metrics and trigger alert when queue gets too long: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/599209/ * We contributed a patch to zuul-jobs for fixing sphinx job to run w/o root access https://review.openstack.org/#/c/599028 * bridge.o.o is online and running only ansible, part of our cfg-mgmt-update topic. As well, base playbooks are all ansible, no more puppet. * Coming week at PTG is to focus on removing more puppet in favor of ansible.
