Hello all! Got some questions on a pork (x86) system tuning: My Informatics teacher seeing some potential in me, kicked me in a Solaris 8 lab faster than I could say "cheese". Now I'm practising part of the things at home.
Got a Realtek 8131 NIC identified by the system as: 10ec,8139 bus 0,device 11, function 0 Port 7000-7CFF IRQ 10 Memory address E4000000-E40000FF According to the README from the vendor: "3. It supports 3 PCI-VID_DID cards, VID_10EC_DID_8139 for Realtek's native, VID_1113_DID_1211 for Accton and VID_1186_DID_1301 for D-Link in the install script." So I'm lucky here right? Query 2 is about filtering: Are there any other filters apart from ipfilter that come with the base install of Solaris 8 on intel? Friendly manuals and sun.com tell about ciscos and ipf, not a dime more. My idea is to build ipfilter as a package and a init script to filter all the things spraying from my box. Disabling sprayers will be done also, but I have to leave some of them in order to practice. Your guidance is appreciated as I still need adult supervision, unlike Bell Labs ;) Thank you in advance! _______________________________________________ Solaris-Users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.filibeto.org/mailman/listinfo/solaris-users
