Hi there.

I also have a Netra T1 box & might have a somewhat similar problem.

I can't place the box into standby. I presume it is something to do with
the LOM management.

Heres what I left:

Hi all,

I recently installed solaris 9 onto my Netra 105 box. For the likes off
me I can't figure out why the on/standby switch simply does not work
since reinstalling. No matter what method I use, the box simply will
not go into standby mode.

I have tried powering the box down with the switch. I have tried
executing the poweroff command in Solaris as well as shutdown -I 15 -g
0 -y . I have tried the power-off command at the PROM (ok) prompt. I
have also tried placing the box into standby mode whilst in LOM mode by
executing the poweroff command there. None off these methods work. The
box just continually hums away L.

I know this seems like I relatively dumb problem. And though I am new
to Solaris, I am moderately ok with Red Hat. I've asked a few friends
who are reasonably fluent with Sparc boxes & they have no idea what is
the cause off this problem is either. I don't believe it to be hardware
related because prior to doing an initial install off solaris 9 from
Solaris 8, Standby worked like it should.

I suspect that the possible source off the problem is the lack off the
LOM package that is supplied on the Solaris 9 supplement CD.
Unfortunately I do not have the supplement cd to either confirm or deny
this being the problem.

Any help with this would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Since this I've tried the LOM package & many other things to try to
rectify the problem. Some people replied saying that sounds like a
physical fault with the unit. I'm thinking that your problem is
probably in a way similar to mine (dodgy LOM code or something off this
nature).
Anyway, if I find a solution to my problem, I will certainly let you
know.

Cheers.

Subject: [Solaris-Users] No OK Prom on Netra T1 (105)

All,

I can not get to the OK Prom on my Netra T1 105.

What I do have:
- Sun Netra T1 105, 18 GB, 128 MB, CD
- no idea what's on the 18GB Disk, and it's all the same to me
- a working serial link from the A/LOM Port to my PC
- HyperTerminal, TerraTerm
- LOM Version 2.1
- LOM Build Aug 6 1999 09:46:27
- The Solaris 9 CD set
- AC connection
- a Problem

The Problem:
Connecting the Netra T1 105 to my PC using TerraTerm, I can see the lom>
prom and I can use all commands out of the 'help' list.
I can 'poweron' and 'poweroff' the system or 'reset' it.
After 'poweron' I do get the 'Lom event: Power on' but not more.
No POST or boot messages, no feedback on BREAK (alt-B in TerraTerm).
I can switch back to lom> using '#.' and forward using 'console'.
It simply looks like there is no OpenBoot.

My Questions:
- How can I get this box alive?
- Is it possible to set the system to not show the console to a/LOM? If
so,
how can I revert this?
- Is there anything to reset the system completely? (like a jumper in a
pc
to forget the setup?)
- How would I see the systems state during the boot, using some LEDs?
- can I bring OpenBoot on the system in this state?
- is there any kind of 'delete me completely' CD available which will be
booted without user's interaction?

Each idea is welcome.

regards
Stefan Auweiler
