Hi,
You can also add a FQDN in your /etc/hosts file just adding a final
dot at the end of your hostname, for example:
bash-2.03$ more /etc/hosts
#
# Internet host table
#
127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.18.130 jupiter jupiter. loghost
This way you have "jupiter" as hostname, and sendmail will have a FQDN.

I have to build a server that must have a short name only (project
requirement).
How can I stop the usual error message from mail about unqualified domain
name for the host.
It will be running Solaris 8.
