Just one mre thing about this:

# touch /reconfigure

"reconfigure" is an empty file that must be on the root (/) directory. Not
root's home directory (which usually is /, but not always)...

U can also do  # touch reconfigure ; init 6


and  normal reboot .

This will reconfigure the new Hardware next time you boot.
