take a look at "find".

find / -mtime '....' shoud do the trick.

You could redirect the output to a file, and then use tar to backup, reading the
input files from the file.

Subject: [Solaris-Users] Scripting - Manipulating Dates

HI
I want to take the backup of some files on a regular basis through a
script. For that to happen I want yesterdays date.
I want to take the backup today of yesterdays files. Is there a way by which I
can manipulate date so that I can do my task.
                                                       Waiting for a reply
                                                       Manesh
