Quoting from http://www.sunfreeware.com:

"Openssh also requires the installation of the packages OpenSSL 0.9.7d <http://www.sunfreeware.com/programlistsparc8.html#openssl7c> (do not use the older 0.9.6a-i packages), zlib <http://www.sunfreeware.com/programlistsparc8.html#zlib>, libgcc-3.3 <http://www.sunfreeware.com/programlistsparc8.html#libgcc> or gcc-3.3.2 <http://www.sunfreeware.com/programlistsparc8.html#gcc33>, and optionally, and optionally the tcp_wrappers <http://www.sunfreeware.com/programlistsparc8.html#tcpwrappers> package. You *MUST* read the OpenSSH installation <http://www.sunfreeware.com/openssh.html> page for installation details and helpful web sites."

Look here http://www.sunfreeware.com/openssh.html and see if you have followed all the steps.

bash-2.05# ssh nco
PRNG is not seeded
bash-2.05# sftp nco
Connecting to nco...
