Hi,
I'm writing a script for automatic backup over the local ethernet and need to store some temporary files. Is /tmp the correct place to do this kind of thing, and will files in /tmp be automatically deleted at any point? Also, I'd like to store log-files of the backup process. Is there any suggestions where (not) to do this? I was thinking about making a directory /backuplogs but I'm not sure about the messing around in the root thing.....
