There is often a small sticker at the top of the card, or on one of
the chips, or on the external bracket. It'll be a hexadecimal
string, just like a regular MAC address. On PC-compatible cards, it's
often not there if the card is a no-name brand. It's almost always
there with 3Com, Intel, Compaq/HP, etc. I've not messed with Enterprise
systems, but for the older SPARC series servers and workstations,
it was always present...
