Check if adm account is allowed to run cron jobs. Check files /etc/cron.d/cron.allow and /etc/cron.d/cron.deny
Also, check /var/cron/log and var/cron/olog Browse this side for more info about cron http://www.unixgeeks.org/security/newbie/unix/cron-1.html --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Any comments or statements made in this transmission reflect the views of the sender and are not necessarily the views of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. I'm trying to get the accounting routines to process the pacct. files. I'm using the instructions in System Administration Guide: Advanced Administration * September 2004 page 287. I created the adm crontab file and added the entries listed. ckpacct is creating multiple pacct files. Looks like there are about 190 of them currently. I can not get /usr/lib/acct/runacct to run from cron. I'm new to Solaris and Unix. So this maybe something real simple or not. The server is running Solaris 9. Any ideas where I should look for clues?
