Thanks for the replies (public and private).
The general answer seems to be "refer to
docs.sun.com", which is fine for me. The way I got
used to Linux was to read and try out a load of
how-tos on the web, so this shouldn't be too
different.
I did like the sound of Essential System
Administration Pocket Reference, and looking on Amazon
it can be picked up for just a couple of quid, so I'll
probably go for that. I'll also pop into some
bookshops (they seem to be a bit hit and miss when
you're looking for Solaris textbooks :) ) and have a
flick through those exam guides too.
