Thank you Stoyan .. Well it only had an obsolete ip address in the file,
so I thought that was probably the case, just wanted to be sure it was
not an os-based file I've missed that could be important before I got
rid of it, as google turned up nothing.

hello Jamie,

this is not a standard file (also the directory) that comes with the 
operating system itself. it is probably added by some software that was 
additionally installed on the machine. you may checkout the content of 
the file - it may yield some additional information.
