This can work only if you run bash. Standard shell in Solaris is Bourne shell,
whos do not have such functionality. If you have experience korn shell you can
use command :
set -o vi
to use vi command for command line history and editing

Subject: [Solaris-Users] Inquiry: Solaris keyboard shortcut to repeat the last
command entered
Dear All
Can you please do me favor and let me know what is the Solaris keyboard
shortcut to repeat the last command entered ? As I know , you can make use
of the "tab" key under the Linux OS to remove the necessity of typing the
whole of the command OR the shift arrow key to bring the last command
entered . Please let me know what are their equivalents under the Solaris OS
? Please be informed that I am using from the following version :
#uname -a
SunOS UltraVIEW1 5.8 Generic_108528-29 sun4u sparc SUNW,UltraAX-i2
#more /etc/release
Solaris 8 2/02 s28s_u7wos_08a SPARC

Let me thank you in advance
