Hello,

I've downloaded GNU Solfege 3.11.1, and tried to use snd-virmidi module as
Midi output device.
Snd-virmidi is loaded using : modprobe snd-virmidi
I've verified device /dev/snd/midiC2D0 is existing and writable by local user.

When I tried to test it in Solfege Sound Configuration, I obtained :
"While trying to open the device /dev/snd/midiC2D0 ioctl(seqfd,
SNDCTL_SEQ_RESET) failed"

The software QmidiRoute, connected to /dev/snd/midiC2D0, detects something
from Solfege. The message is "Unknown event type". But no music is sent.

Additional informations :
snd-virmidi module is made using kernel source :
/usr/src/linux-2.6.22.5-31/sound/drivers/virmidi.c

Linux is OpenSuSe 10.3

I don't know if this problem is really a bug, because perhaps Solfege is only
designed for real soundcards, and not virtual soudcards.
The purpose of using /dev/snd/midiC2D0 is to connect Solfege to Jack server.

Thank you for all the work already made.

Regards,

Jlc Music
